Stephen Spera was born in Philadelphia, Pa., USA. He studied at the University of the Arts, and had a successful career as Artist, Photographer, and Musician before moving to Manhattan. Spera's works have been exhibited all over the world, and is represented in many fine collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, NY, and the GETTY, Ca. He is author of many books , and was included in Dennis Cooper's Little Caesar Anthology of American Poets under thirty. He has shown Photographs, Artworks, and made Sound Installations in almost every country on earth, and has performed in front of audiences wordlwide. Spera has received fellowships and grants, including Two 'Meet the Composer' grants in NYC.

Recently, Stephen has had great critical acclaim with his "4H2O" cd on Parvoart Recordings (Germany) ..He has work on Trace Recordings, (London), Re-Red (Europe) and Editions Vache', (New York), with more to follow.

Stephen Spera has lived most of his life in New York City, where from his studio on Broadway in lower Manhattan he produces music, artworks, photography, film, and anything else that sparks his fertile imagination.
